Guest santoo Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 hi guys & gals, is there any way on the b7610 to take a picture without having to press the cam button? (apart from the timer-shot function i mean) iirc on other wm devices i could either use the touchscreen to focus AND take a pic - or at least use the hw-keyboard (enter) to take pics - both seem not to work on b7610. is there any camera-sw version which allows this? or a 3rd-party program/cam interface? why am i looking for this? 2 main reasons: 1) situations, in which I can't reach the cam button (e.g. phone is in a pouch or a special housing) 2) it's not that easy to hold the phone completely steady while pushing cam button -> jittery pics; softly touching the screen produced far better results for me on earlier devices... TIA!
Guest me00016 Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 (edited) Set the timer to 2 seconds. Why not? Press the shutter key and just wait stable! Far better than pressing any soft or hw keys (IMHO)!!! Edited May 25, 2010 by me00016

I agree that timer of 2 sec is often preferable to hw-key, but - as I mentioned - there are scenarios, when I can't reach the cam button at all (e.g. phone is still in it's case; yes, there are cases which allow you to take pics without taking the phone out). unfortunately, timer-shots *still* require cam button to be pressed, so no joy
