Guest Dump4Free Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 (edited) I got 2.2 up and running my AT&T Nexus One and everything seems to be working fine besides the ring vibrate. The phone still vibrates on games but when i set it to vibrate its just silent on a call. Any one else have this problem? Update: So the issue was i only had to vibrate in silent mode.. not sure why it wouldnt vibrate when i put the volumn all the way down anyway though Edited May 25, 2010 by Dump4Free

Guest ryedawg Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 This happened to me as well. I would use the volume rocker to turn the volume all the way down which would then show the vibrate icon. When I got a call though, the phone wouldn't vibrate at all. I googled this behavior and it seems like a problem that a lot of people have. I tried tinkering in the sound settings and "vibrate only when silent was on" but the phone was just silent. No vibration to be found. I then tried to use the "beautiful vibrate" & "beautiful silent" widgets to see if those would help. I played with them for awhile and they didn't really help either. Id still get calls that didn't vibrate and besides the "sound" settings would always override them anyways. Then all of a sudden, it just started working. I have no idea how or why, but I could now use the volume rocker to put the volume all the way down and then the phone would be on just vibrate. It now seems to behave identically to the way it did in 2.1. Weird I know, but it's still working after a whole day so hopefully it's fixed!
Guest Kesey Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 This is Killing me under 2.2. 2.1-->Volume Rocker Up through the settings: Silent, Vibrate, Volume Level 1, 2, 3... 2.2 (Vibrate Only When not Silent) -->Volume Rocker Up through the settings: Silent, Volume Level 1, 2, 3... (No Vibrate Only!) 2.2 (Vibrate Always) -->Volume Rocker Up through the settings: Vibrate, Volume Level 1, 2, 3... (No Silent!) In 2.1 I used to use the Volume rocker to turn the phone to silent at night, then one step up from silent was vibrate for work in the morning. Now in 2.2 one step up from silent is Volume Level 1--it skips over vibrate. I'm assuming this is the case for everyone?

Turn your heads to this issue ticket and star it, even though they set it on "WorksAsIntended". Can't hurt. http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=8668
