Guest kcmtnbiker Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 Last night while trying to free up some memory, I found a 9MB file in the device root called "hwaround.log". I deleted the file without consequence but it keeps showing back up (although much smaller). Every time It has log entries similar to the following: [2010/05/25 09:0:55] [Mem: 424427525] \Windows\Taskswitcher.exe - IsThereHopper() -> FALSE (file not found!) When I deleted the file initially, it had thousands of these lines. The phone runs fine and contrary to the above log, taskswitcher works fine as well. What is this file for and anyway to keep it from growing so large? I've searched to no avail as to what this file is. Thanks
Guest dragonmatahari Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 try this.. 1.delete all the contents 2.using resco explorer or similar application set file attribute (properties) to 'read only' ..softreset some log files work using this method
Guest kcmtnbiker Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Looks like setting the properties to read only worked. The file is still at 0b and haven't noticed any adverse effects. Thanks for the tip.
