Using USB-MS toggle in recovery?

the rooting guide clearly say its not recommended, but why? i use it almost everyday?

i have used a lot ... not had problem in fact i transfer almost every rom i flash to the sd this way

I use it aswell. It's also handy, as it mounts the ext partitions on the SD Card so I can browse them on the laptop :rolleyes:

As long as its unmounted properly before you press the optical joypad, I can't see it being an issue tbh...

That note in the first post was added in the early days of "usb bricking" investigations, when it seemed that using that feature caused some of the issue. After a few days that theory was confuted by new stories.

So, if your recovery console is acting normal (no flickering, no multiple-tries in order to have it launched on the device, no hang-ups), just use it with confidence. The only feature that is known to cause issues is trying to restore a nandroid backup, mostly if the "ext partition too" option was selected.
