Guest lsuhe Posted February 5, 2003 Report Posted February 5, 2003 Hi all I got my 2nd SPV today and when you go to the settings menu and then to pwer management you get Error, This setting could not be opened, with Ok and Cancel buttons. I phoned 156 and got a fault code and its going back (28 days replacement) but its p**sing me off a bit, and it takes about 10 attempts to turn it on, but my old phone didn't take 10 attempts to turn on but had numerous other probs. 3rd time lucky? Has anyone else had this problem? Chris
Guest Shire29 Posted February 5, 2003 Report Posted February 5, 2003 I had the same problem - the first time I phoned 156 I was told there was afault with the phone and becasue I was within the 30 day period (a while ago now) I could exchange. I decided not to because I was happy with the phone in general. The second time I phoned 156 about this problem the lady at Orange had a working model that could not enter the power management settings either and therefore told me that it was "normal" for these settings to be unaccessable. Recently for the first time I performed a hard-reset and voila this option is now available. Not that i'm suggesting you do a hard reset  but if it's a new phone you won't lose anything from resetting it - although it may negate your warranty - perhaps someone else could advise here. Cheers, Shire
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted February 5, 2003 Report Posted February 5, 2003 It shouldn't harm your waranty (at last i've found how to spell it). As Orange has no way of knowing it has been reset (afaik), that being the point of it ;) There are a few OCS people resigtered here, so they should be able to confirm this.
