Guest inswva Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 My i910 will no longer recognize any charger so I called VZW to have it replaced under warranty. I got in just under the wire as my warranty expires the first of June. I was told the phone could be new, refurbished, or used. I'm not holding my breath for a new phone. I'm curious if anyone has had a phone replaced recently and, if so, what kind of condition the replacement unit was in?

Even if it's a used one, I think they replace all the exterior parts like case and screen. But most likely you will get a new one since warranty is almost out for all i910's so they won't be needing them.
Guest gman34 Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Btw, did you send your original phone back in? or did they send it first and told you to send the other one back?
Guest aceofrazgriz Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 (edited) i received a replacement awhile back. it was refurbished, and even came with a list of what was replaced on the device (just the case on mine.) Was in pristine condition and still runs solid a year later. and for gmans comment, i got my replacement shipped first, then returned the other. if you don't ship yours back in the alloted time i'm pretty sure they tack a hefty charge to your bill. best part was nothing was wrong with my original omnia, only issue was with VZW service the night i called. Only data worked, no calls/texts on 2 separate phones, was nice since mine was a bit beat up at the time and for no reason i got a replacement lol. Edited May 27, 2010 by aceofrazgriz
Guest zanix Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 I had a replacement sent recently, it said it was a referb but it looked brand new
Guest inswva Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Btw, did you send your original phone back in? or did they send it first and told you to send the other one back? I have 10 days to return my current unit. I'm very relieved by the responses. Granted, I'm a phone whore, but I really didn't want to depart from my trusty i910. It's easily been the best phone I've owned. I've been a WinMo phone guy since my Apache days and have been cooking and loading custom ROMs since then. Yes, the newer devices have more horsepower, but the i910, in my opinion, still represents the best WinMo platform simply due to it's form factor. I love the i910 due to it's diminutive stature. It has plenty of horsepower for all the functions I require and I am loathe to move on to a physically bigger phone. Thanks for the reassurance folks.
Guest .hack_infection Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 If it's worth anything, big red replaced my omnia 1 with an omnia 2, I guess cuz they didn't have any omnia 1s to give me. Free upgrade for the win!!!
Guest robertjm Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 Was it replaced under warranty for free, or did you have to pay the $50 Asurion fee? If it's worth anything, big red replaced my omnia 1 with an omnia 2, I guess cuz they didn't have any omnia 1s to give me. Free upgrade for the win!!!

Guest utdsoccer18 Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 just had mine replaced the other day.... easiest thing i have ever done
Guest gayflag Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 (edited) My omnia will not let me align my screen. I am running DC22 with a 6.5 rom. Align screen just loops over and over. Is this a common problem, and should i warranty? I have asurion and extended warranty from verizon. I've had the phone for less than 2 years. The only thin i'm concerned with is the water sensor in the back cover has been partially set to red. Its only half way showing water mark. I was riding in a seadoo and i put my phone in the glovebox. The asshole driver decided to do a nose dive and a tiny bit of water got around my phone. Not enough to do any damage, but just enough to trip the water mark sensor. My poor girlfriend had her phone in her pocket. It was screwed. Still worked after a good dry but the lcd looks horrible. Will i get hassled because of my water mark? I usually put a piece of electric tape over those stupid sensors but i just never did it on my omnia... Edited May 31, 2010 by gayflag

Free upgrade for the win!!! Is this under warranty or with insurance? Because my warranty is up and the Omnia just started acting up on me. You think Asurion will be out of Omnia i910's too? I don't wanna pay $80 for nothing...
