Guest de_shepherd Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 At various times I've had issues where if I press pause in a music player the music pauses ... but after a few seconds starts again. Not sure what I did but in the past I seem to have got it sorted. However, I've recently started using Spotify Mobile and in that pause always restarts playing after a few seconds if the headphones are plugged in. If I remove the headphones then pause does permantly pause. Anyone found a solution to this ... I'm using headphones with a "normal" 3-section 3.5mm jack and using either the supplied 3.5mm to 4-section 2.5mm jack convertor or a 3rd party 3.5 to 3-section 2.5mm convertor made no difference. I'm assuming its probably something to do with the controller info on the 4th section not being supplied making the Pulse think the play button on the headphones is being pressed?
Guest rhen Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 I have the same issue too. It is very annoying. I use the stock ROM with december update.
Guest Pipe Merchant Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Aye, this is a well known issue. I think you're right about the cause, but so far I haven't found any solution, beyond using the included 2.5mm headphones. Sometimes I get lucky and the music won't start, but most of the time as long as headphones are connected the phone is gonna be playing music. It makes doing things like watching movies or youtube pretty much impossible.
Guest Azurren Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Download the "autostarts" app from the market (it its payed but I don't see why you should have to pay to fix a bug) Just disable music under "media button pressed"

Guest Azurren Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Don't you need root for that? Yes you do.. Sorry should have mentioned that. If you want to use it I suggest following the stickied guide with pictures and install a 1.7 or 1.8 vanilla our tmobile rom. (not the 2.1) But it is the only fix.. At least the only one I've seen on this forum.
Guest Simon O Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 (edited) And it's been fixed by the Cyanogenmod guys http://github.com/zewt/android_external_op...57a6de#comments Now does anybody know how the heck we can add this to our roms? edit: fix is in opencore. Anybody know how to compile this against Android 2.1 in our phones? Edited June 11, 2010 by flibblesan

We'd need the vendor files to compile it properly =/ I could upload the fixed library for 1.5 and 2.1 though, if you want. I only tested it with 2.1... Guest BigBearMDC Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 (edited) So we need Huawei to release source for 2.1? Huawei won't release their Android source I think, but they'd have to release the vendor config of the Pulse. This config specifies the functions of Android, like which driver talks to the audio service etc. (correct me if I'm wrong). The vendor is for Android like the kernel config for the kernel. I already wrote a topic on Huawei's forum. A few days ago I wrote them an email, asking for the email address of the Research and Development office, and they told me that: Dear sir/madam sorry for the inconvenience it brought to you ,we will urge our related engineer to help you slove the probelm you posted on the forum ASAP thank you So I hope to get this vendor config or at least some assistance soon :) Best regards, BigBear Edited June 11, 2010 by BigBearMDC

We really could do with this as there is only so much one can do with ROMs by editing files.

I also wrote a topic on their Chinese forum now, as the support on the English forum is just poor... I feel pretty alone there :)

Guest BigBearMDC Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 Why havent you upgraded to ubuntu 10.04, 9.10 is ugly and 10.04 is far better lol Lucid is running on my other PC and one of my Laptops :) I just didn't want to risk anything with my DEV PC.
Guest Simon O Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 It would be a dream to have the vendor files. Then we could have awesome roms like Cyanogen style where everything is customized, modded, speed up etc. And annoying bugs fixed! I found a widget in the marketplace that helps fix the headset issue. It's called Headset Blocker. Add it to a screen, click it to enable and it stops the system thinking that buttons are being pressed on the headset. Works well. But it's just a workaround.
