Hero connecting to internet but no signal for calls/texts

Hi all.

I've been running Modaco fine for a few months, thanks btw its miles better than stock, however the other day i turned it off for an exam and when rebooted it did not have a signal. I then found that i could still connect to the internet throught the browser, market etc.

Since then I've tried completely reinstalling Modaco 3.2 Core from a wiped system and updating to the latest(?) radio, 63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26. The only possible source for the problem i can think of is that i lost the phone the week before and it was IMEI barred, however the police returned it and it was taken of the list and worked perfectly until I turned it off. I also think, can't be sure though, that i had switched it on and off during the time between it being reactivated and it losing connection. Surely it wouldn't connect to the net if it was an IMEI problem?

IMEI blocked, ring your provider.

Got hold of an iPhone and looked at it for a mate, same issue, could get data access but wouldnt let me make calls. I know that one was stolen for def.
