Can I disable the keyboard settings button?

Is there anyway I can disable the keyboard settings button while I am typing, I find I press it mistakenly and it is beginning to annoy me.

I am just using the stock HTC keyboard.

I have attached a pic to show what I mean.

I would like to keep HTC predictive text.

I have started using Smart Keyboard. It also has predictive text which seems at least as good as the HTC keyboard as well as a whole range of alternative skins and layouts. The one major thing it is lacking as a way to customise the keys - it would be good to be able to swap the $ for a £.
