Genericified Desire... Problems with Facebook

I have the model A8181 desire. Originally shipped with the T-Mobile generic rom 1.15.110.11 Radio version 32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11

Made a goldcard and installed This (1.21.405.2 radio 32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02) generic ROM, and now I appear to have a problem with the Facebook app. (attached screenshot of the problem to this post)

This problem appears exclusive to the FB application, and happens both with the stock version shipped with the ROM and the updated version from the market, I can view my account properly over the browser, and friend stream also appears to work properly. I can view my friends list and look at their photos, but when I attempt to either look at their walls, or go to the news feed I also get this error. I know my data connection is fine, as every application included in the ROM can access data properly, and at the expected speed (although I was in a GPRS area in this photo, the same thing happens on HSDPA). The FB app worked perfectly in the generic T-Mobile ROM

I don't have my device rooted, and I am using the recovery image the phone comes with by default

Any ideas? I would like to avoid flashing back to the T-Mobile ROM if possible. Thanks

Seems since FB changed their privacy settings its knocked the app out. Its not the ROM

Not that it helps you any, but my generic fw desire has suddenly started displaying this error message in the facebook app, friendstream works fine.

The message had been appearing for me on an occasional basis for the past few days but since yesterday, I've not been able to use the facebook app to view updates, I can still browse photos, messages etc but not status update list. Sound familiar at all ?

Yeah amacrobie, that is exactly the same problem that I have. If it's the app and not the ROM, I seriously hope that the makers release a fix

Android is gaining traction at quiet a rate it is extremely frustrating that the fb development aren't taking android as seriously as they are the iWhatever crew

Hope they fix it soon otherwise a lot of people are going to be pissed off

I have a generic A8181 Desire, unrooted, stock rom, and no problems whatsoever with the Facebook app. So it cannot be changed privacy settings.

have you got the new privacy settings yet? they're being rolled out to users over the next few days. it was working fine for me until yesterday afternoon when the new settings were applied to my account...

yesterday, i had that problem but i've read on phandroid that it's a global prob.

Hi there its not anything to do with the phone its facebook causing problems, if you go onto there page and see my reply to them it seems now sorted as my facebook on htc desire is working fine now.....
