I´ve tried the "vibration works on 2.1" way - Everything works fine but these reboots are killing me !

So i Installed the swedish Vanilla Rom again - I can Install the recovey and everthing is working brilliant

Until i install Superboot or any MCR / The Touchscreen wont work !!

It was easier to upload it to RS... but I just realised that you are asking about 1.8... this image helped me for 1.7 so I am not sure if you should do this... better wait untill someone else confirms it!

Okay ! I found a bootimage that worked for me

I Back on MCR 1.7 No more FC´s and Reboots

I used the boot.img from this file : update-U8230V100R001C00B250-rooted-signed.zip

Has anyone got a copy of this boot.img. The RS link is dead.

I tried using the boot.img from the December Update (by unpacking the UPDATA.app) but that didn't seem to work.

Okay finally found it.

To get it all working, install the Recovery image and then install your 1.5 ROM of choice (MCR 1.8 for me). At this point you'll notice the touchscreen isn't working. So now install the Superboot but change the pulse.superboot.img for this one here. Touchscreen is now working again and you're running 1.5.

I took the boot.img from update-U8230V100R001C00B250-rooted-signed.zip (found here). You'll also notice the default Huawei screen on boot up instead of T-Mobile.

This doesn't seem to actually work at all. I used 1.7 MCR and after applying the boot.img I noticed that Google Maps disappeared, that and I can't install any apps. If I disable Apps2SD will that help or is all hope lost thanks to the partition change? I can't stand 2.1 and the constant freezes anymore. I can't even listen to music and browse Facebook without problems.

EDIT: Disabling Apps2SD means I can install apps again so that's good enough for now.

I really am amazed by the people who say they have constant crashes. I've had exactly one whilst entering text into the google search bar (had to remove the battery), and I've never had another one since.

Not crashes, just poor quality. Music stops playing while loading any other app (even Simple Last.fm has shut it down before) and as I use the music player often, it's a deal breaker for me. It's obvious there are memory problems with using 2.1.

I've rolled back to MCR 1.7 and then flashed the superboot and it's still doing the rebooting thing.

I'm going back to the 1.5 December update... I suspect my problems will still exist :/

and this is why i've not flashed any of the 2.1 updates except pauls first 2.1 update.zip which doesnt change partition layout nor flash hardware.

Paul's 2.1 requires the Hungarian update to be applied first in order to resize the partitions.
