is there a way to increase Mic gain in calls?

Hey,

I know ppl are busy with serious stuff at the moment trying to get froyo working, but I am seeking a patch or a gscript (if possible ) which will increase my Mic gain during calls, I know it is possible as a friend of mine has his liquid do so by a xian/lcr Rom, I don't really remember. it is very useful in noisy places plus the acer hardware is able to do so ( n1 can't do this, I Googled it )

Forgot to mention that fring and nimbuzz are impossible to voice chat without screaming in the microphone hole. Guys please find a solution for that..
