HTC Touch resurection need help please

Hi all I have just brought my HTC touch back out as my Omnia has died, I originally bought this from Vodafone and I am trying to run my 3 sim on it, but its just keeps flashing on the aerial symbol and when i touch it says the phone is not ready, so is there a fix or hack to check if its locked or even a custom rom would be great, help help help please
