Guest Archaon Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 Hello all, After running alot of apps and so on which do benchmarking and testing I noticed that the Desire is always registered as having 400MB RAM yet officially it has 576. Anyone else having this issue or is this normal? I would like to be assured that my Desire is running at full potential. Cheers

Cheers a part of the RAM is reserved/used by the Android system. this is normal RAM = Random Accessed Memory :( Edited May 29, 2010 by StrongOneX
Guest craigcrawford1988 Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 (edited) RAM = Random Accessed Memory :( Why did you tell him what RAM stood for? It isn't called random because it somehow randomly hides memory! It is random because it is extremely fast and useful for random accesses. Also, it's Random Access Memory. Guest BlackLine7 Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 I would just like to mention the 8MB ram hack which is included in Richard Trip's kernel v13. Search for it @ XDA.
Guest Subject Delta Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 Isn't some of that memory reserved for the graphics system?
