Guest pooh-hpc Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 Dear all, I tried to update my Liquid device to Android 2.1 with 1.100.05 firmware. I started Acer Tools, but after several successful steps my device has entered into endless fastboot loop. On each boot attempt the phone shows "usb_init" message and then reboots again. Also I have seen blinking bar at the top of the screen. After waiting for some time I switched off the phone, after this I was able to switch it on again and boot the OS, but the phone became unusable. It can not find the mobile networks and it is not detected as USB device no more. How I can recover the devices? I tried to restore the factory setting, but it didn't help. I also tried to boot in fastboot mode by pressing '<' + camera, but the phone hangs in 'usb_init' message. Any help will be much appreciated.
Guest fischschneehase Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 did you have a nandroid backup? if yes insatll recovery again boot to it and restore the backup
Guest pooh-hpc Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 did you have a nandroid backup? if yes insatll recovery again boot to it and restore the backup No, I have no nandroid backup. I only have the files Acer Tool has saved...
Guest pooh-hpc Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 And BTW I can not install anything because USB is not working...
Guest R3dw0lF Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 do you have malezrecovery or similar installed? Perhaps downloading a different acer liquids nandroid back up and installing it on your sd & running might recover it. Reinstalling the bin could work as well, but that won't work without USB support...
Guest Quipeace Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 (edited) I'm not sure if the acer tool detects the Liquid in recovery mode, but you can always try: Boot to bootloader (fastboot) mode. (that's that usb_init screen you're talking about) Flash malez's recovery Boot to recovery (usb unplugged, Camera - volume down - power, till phone vibrates) Plug in the usb cable See if the acer tool sees the phone. EDIT: Clarification. Edited May 30, 2010 by Quipeace

Guest pooh-hpc Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 Boot to recovery (usb unplugged, Camera - volume down - power, till phone vibrates) Plug in the usb cable See if the acer tool sees the phone. I installed malez tool, but Acer Tool still doesn't see the phone. I only can see the phone from Linux in USB debugging mode. When USB debugging mode is switched off the phone is unavailable.
