Update failed and flashing lights...

Hi all,I am just having this boring problem when I try any update from a "updata.app",when I put the "dload" folder in my memory card root,I reboot and try to update but it won't work...I heard it's happenning to other people so maybe someone has solved it already,or if someone has some interesting idea,it would be nice!

I did the december update a while ago,I recently tried the chinese update to have vibration on 2.1,and I have been trying the hungarian official 2.1 update,but no way,I am stuck on my (nice) 1.7 MCR.

Have you still got a old Dload folder on there? If so boot into recovery mode, enable USB and then delete them (If your using linux make sure theyre really gone) and then try again. THat worked for me.

Thanks for the help,I tried to delete from recovery,toggle usb and delete any "dload", then put the "dload" again,but it still fails...

For some people with chinese update, it happens.

What can yo do is:

- Download Swiss 8230 rom

- Flash it (it will say "update failed" at around 80% of flash, but by that time it repartitions the file system)

- Install amon-ra recovery

- From that point you are on your own, select a ROM in update.zip format and install, or you can split the original ROM and install via fastboot or whatever.

I downloaded the update frrom huawei but still the lights flashing and the "update failed" message again and again....grrrr

Can somebody tell me what to do? Because it seems like I can't apply any UPDATA.APP on my pulse...I tried to flash the new MCR 2.1 from Paul on recovery but of course it didn't work,but it didn't do any big damage,I just reapplied my old 1.7 MCR...so I really don't know what is my problem,all the custom roms I have tried previously worked as they should,but when it comes to installing an update,no way...

Have you made sure the battery is full or plugged in before installing?

Yes I tried that,and I also removed the battery and tried again,it's written that it could help but still nothing,I can't update at all,but thanks for the support!

I hope I'll find a solution soon,it's frustrating because I was waiting for that update like everyone here!

Actually I finally solved my problem, but I don't really know what happenned:

I went on the recovery and I wiped everything,I partition my sd card, then I took an other sd card I have and I partitionned it too.

Then I tried the t-mobile hungarian update,and I saw "preparing to update" longer than usually,but then I saw "update failed"

After that I tried the swiss official update for U8230,and it said "preparing etc" then nothing happenned,and after I boot up like usual,but my touchscreen doesnt work anymore lol...

So I reboot and this time the update for U8230 worked,so I install it and as I was warned it stops around 85%;then I remove the battery,and I install amon-ra recovery,and I finally install the 2.1 rbm vanilla rooted update! So now everything is ok for me apparently,thanks everybody for your advices =)

J'ai le même problème et cela depuis l'installation de la rom "update-U8230V100R001C00B250-rooted-signed", que j'ai réussi à l'insataller, ma carte SD n'est plus reconnue et en plus je n'arrive pas à faire de mis à jour car sois disant l'option de mis à niveau n'a pas été détectée". Je m'arrache les cheveux AIDEZ MOI PAR PITIE.

Je pense qu'il me faudrait un backup avec la rom originale du u8230 .....

Yes i think that the problem is my custom rom which don't want install my update
