Guest aliendog Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 Just a quick question; When your phone is "USB bricked", are you then able to connect to it when in fastboot-mode or recovery-mode? I've seen many posts where people are able to run commands and/or get data from their phone when the phone is described as bricked. The reason I am asking is that I have a phone that where I get the "USB device not recognized"-message no matter what state the phone is in, what I do, what computer or OS i try it on.
Guest Snarkasm Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 In fastboot and HBOOT, you have USB access and the phone is recognized when USB-bricked. In recovery, you don't see anything. Yours sounds different. Do you get requests to install Qualcomm drivers?
Guest aliendog Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 No, I don't get any requests at all. Rooted the phone, using TinyLinux and flashed a file (no apps2sd) that I cooked in the kitchen here. Had some connectivity issues now and then, so I did a hard reset on it and phone boots up without any problems. The funny thing is that the phone is working like it is supposed to do, but I am not able to connect to it no matter what I do. Perhaps an actual hardware problem then :( Tried with 4 computers + 2 different cables and same problem every time. Looks like it's going back for a replacement then...
