I'm finally on Paul's 2.1 ROM and it's actually working nicely, but unfortunatly I cannot sign into Google account with my o2 sim card. I have no G or 3G in my bar at the top, and I can't connect to any WiFi where I am. I put my T-Mobile sim card in and managed to sign in all fine. So I'm back on my o2 sim, I went to "Network operators" and picked "o2 3G thingy" and then to APN, new and entered the details from the wiki, but nothing came up and nothing changed.

Help please. :(

Same here on a T-Mobile Pulse UK (U8220) with r7, non-kitchened. The camera works though; it wasn't working with the hungarian update.

Is this going to be a problem then for all of the people who dont use T-mobile? If so then a lot of people are going to be unhappy bunnies in this forum.

Have you checked if 3G is available in your area ?

I mentioned that it works when I'm on my T-Mobile sim card, so yes.

Just because tmobile has signal / 3g doesn't mean 02 has the same coverage.

Try taking your phone on a trip and see if it gets any data connection.

Correct. From my experience I have found O2 to have the least 3G coverage around. So it may be a possibility.

Okay, my bad. Well BEFORE I updated to 2.1, I had 3G coverage on 1.5 just fine. I can send/receieve calls/texts too.

Is anyone else using O2 and have it working on this rom? That is the question.

There are ton's to people on this forum with o2 simplicity, so if that would be a problem it would be really visible right now.

I also have o2, but I am waiting for Paul to release a final MCR with optimizations before flashing..

would be able to help you out after that..

Hmm. I don't have a simplicity sim. I don't remember having 3G before I flashed Pauls MCR either. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if I could connect to my WiFi at home, but it's a stupid Orange Livebox and won't let me. :( I'm just pleased I can get calls/texts.. I just feel naked without having access to the market, haha!

Willz, when you enter the details for a new APN are you ensuring that you hit MENU>>>SAVE after entering the details and not just hitting the back or home key. I can confirm catagorically that this rom DOES work with O2. I am using an O2 simplicity sim and entered the details as they are set out on the WIKI page. Are you contract or PAYG, if you are PAYG you will need to enter these details to get yourself up n running.

Ah. I did a new apn, that's why. Well, I was half way through editing the details, just did the mmsc and the G icon popped up in my notification bar. So I carried on doing it, saved and rebooted, but it's gone again. So I've restored to default and done half of it again and it's back, so is it cool to save it when it's not finished? As long as it works?

Just finish entering all the details and restart your phone, you should be good to go then.

I did, and it didn't work. So I tried again, but didn't enter everything and saved it when the icon came up, and now it works. Do I really need to enter the rest of the details?
