app market notification not showing!!!

I'm currently running on stock android 2.1 unrooted and I noticed recently that I receive no notifications for updates available for my apps in the market... Is there anyway I can fix this issue??? The notification option is already set in my market app but I'm still not seeing the 'updates are available'on my notification bar... does this also have anything to do with me currently using pro launcher beta??? I've set it back to stock launcher and still not seeing anything on my notification bar... help!!!

Market seems to have issues at the moment, developer console doesn't update download stats for 3 days:

I have the reverse. It keeps telling me I have maybe 5 updates, but there are only 3...
