Guest -Wii- Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 :( Today, I have Driven 150 miles with sat nav on.... made 5 phone calls text all day, browsed the web for at least an hour and here we are probably 17 hours later with 36% left, on 1.5 it would have gone hours ago
Guest Jankov Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 (edited) Yeah its far better than with the 1.5 I used it like on the 1.5 listen music, browse the web, install apk and 30 hours later its on 40%. With 1.5 i charged the phone once or twice a day Edited May 31, 2010 by Jankov
Guest ravisanin Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 Battery backup is much much better on 2.1 ... Seems Google greatly improved the performance of their programs.... Great stuff...Unexpected and extra benefit from 2.1
Guest tido Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 My phone is up for the 2nd day now, and I used it quite a lot: Wifi on: 100% Wifi working: 25%(8h 43m) Battery state: 47% :(
Guest _Bobby Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 (edited) Settings > Wireless & Network Settings > Mobile Networks > Use only 2G Networks Does that actually helps for the battery life to be extended? I've tried with and without that checked, I don't seem to be getting any power usage improvement. And how about this one: Settings > Wireless & Network Settings > Mobile Networks > Enable always-on mobile data (use more power on some networks) It's being checked by default. Since I have my Data Service turned off, is there any point in unchecking that? I've tried by disabling the latter and turning on the first one, but no drastic change in battery life, as some people seem to get with the Hungarian update. Edited June 3, 2010 by _Bobby

In version 1.5 I used to turn off the 3G connection, when I didn't need it, to save the battery. I'd like to use 3G though when it's not consuming extra battery power :( I'll test it by turning it on and see if it consumes more battery power and let you know

Guest rjm2k Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 Which of the thousands of ROMs are you running? The stock hungarian rom doesn't seem to make any difference to my battery life.
Guest M31 Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 The stock hungarian rom doesn't seem to make any difference to my battery life. 2.1 Vanilla rom r7 upd1, and the battery life is min. double, compared with the 1.5 official T-mobile rom!!!
Guest Bigsy Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 Complete opposite for me, with various tweaks on 1.5, like 3g off at night, setcpu, etc etc I could get 100 hours out of the battery. With pauls latest 2.1 I'm seeing about 24 hours before I need to plug it in. Bar launcherPro and setcpu I have no real apps that could be causing this drain so am a bit confused.
