Sense for Pulse 2.1

A port of sense/espresso exists for G1. It is a rom available at xda.

Based on that one, what U huys think, wouldn't it worth to try to make a port for Pulse?

Porting a ROM is extremly complicated because u've to add drivers and make a new Kernel ect...

And only the porting the framework-files and the apps isn't as easy as it sounds because Huawei have changed parts of it

Well. it is Eclair, so I am not sure if the kernel has to be replaced, except if Sense uses special kernel features.

Regarding framework, yes, we have a huawei extension, but my idea is that it might be possible.

Of course it is more complicated than building a Vanilla, but maybe not hopeless.

If you take a look at this thread over at XDA, this guy is trying to port the 2.1 Pulse over to the G1, so maybe we can work it the opposite way and get a G1 Rom working on the Pulse? :(

Its defiantly possbile :( as it has been ported to the Motorola Droid, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yM6mLjV_70

Cool, I guess if someone worked on it then there could be something like Cyanogen mod for the Pulse :( :(

Anything is possible when it comes to programming. But is their a dev that would be commited enogth to port a htc rom to the pulse?

It is the worst type of work.. Reverse engineering and trawling through line after line of code looking for that one..

Yeah okay.. I'm a novice java programmer and don't know a thing about Android, but it can't be all that different.

only issue is that g1 has swap.
