VPN issue on R7

I have tried to connect to my pptp vpn server with the built-in pptp dialer on android 2.1 R7, but it just didn't work, reporting unable to connect, but the same pptp vpn account worked just fine on both my computer and iphone in the same wifi environment. it might not be the vpn server's problem.

Openvpn didn't work either. I have installed Openvpn-installer and Openvpn-setting from the android market. when I tried to use openvpn-setting to connect to the openvpn server, it just reported "Fatal error: Unable to allocate TUN/TAP dev dynamically". when I used adb shell to login the device, I found that the tun.ko module, which required for openvpn, was missed. I have also search the web, but couldn't find anywhere to download the proper tun.ko for this version of android os. I will appreciate it if any of you could give me a help on this tun.ko thing.

I'm having the same problem, when I try to connect using openvpn, I will get a "cannot allocate tun tap dev dynamically" error.

And when I try to install the tun.ko module using adb, it says invalid module format.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm running MCR r7 2.1.

without tun.ko, any vpn clients won't be able to run.

I can not use any VPN with 2.1 R7 too. It is so frustrating. :lol:

Do you know any 2.1 version with working VPN? btw where is the solution??

Found this over at xda. Not tried it, but there's a tun.ko for 2.1 there
