FYI - Returned Desire from HTC

Hi

I realise the Bricking issue has been resolved, i just thought id mention i received my Desire back from HTC fully fixed. I noticed the HBOOT was now 0.80 from its original 0.75. Kudos to them for flashing the device and getting it back to me in 8 days, i sent it just before the fix was released.

Haha, they probably knew what you'd done and flashed 0.80 to make it harder for you to go back to a stock ROM :(

Either that or the board that it was replaced with already had .80 installed.....

I think that they replaced mobo - if they do things like Sony-Ericsson they usually do not waste time resolving such cases...

Somehow I think they would have been able to fix it (the usb issue) in about 5 seconds if they wanted to, all by themselves!

Giving that they made the device and wrote the code!

Note entirely true. If they didn't know about the problem when they shipped it, they would be as clueless as us until they talked to their programming team (who could also have been baffled).

... until the dev/programming team (1 bright spark at least) decided to do a search and ended up at Modaco :( Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha :o
