Headphone Connectivity

Hello,

My Pulse is really bad with headphones connected. I am using 3.5mm headphone connector jack and I've tried several converters. Most of them are too small and keep disconnecting or falling out.

Can anyone recommend a converter (with purchase link) or a bluetooth (or any other) alternative that I can use so I can play music on my Pulse with my Sennheiser CX-500 3.5mm headphones?

I've installed Autostarts so don't have the random music player issue, but I have to use elastic bands to keep the headphone connector in place as otherwise it cuts out or I only get a single channel.

Cheers,

Louis

Any 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter will work as long as the 2.5mm plug is thin.

BTW I fixed the sound issue without installing Autostarts. Just use adb shell or open a terminal on your phone and do:

su
pm disable com.android.music/com.android.music.MediaButtonIntentReceiver[/code]

reboot and the music player no longer goes crazy.

(btw this is exactly the fix that Autostarts makes. Just cheaper!)

Cheers for the Autostarts hack. Do you need to do this on every reboot or is it persisted?

Also, I've tried several 2.5mm to 3.5mm adaptors and none of them stay in the socket properly. They always tend to slip out when it is in your pocket.

I use a 2.5mm to 3.5mm I got from ebay, it was too fat initially, but grab one of my angle files, and took the edge off. Fits snugs, disconnects at times, but seems to be okay. The worst issue with the phone is still when you get a message or notification, the speaker turns on and plays your music out loud for 2-3 seconds, very embarassing on the bus :(

You need to do the hack I put above.

Once set it'll stay set and survive a reboot.

Which part isn't connecting, the 2.5 into the phone or the 3.5 into the adabter?

I had the same problem trying to get my psp headphones to work.. Turned out Liam just needed some brute force, thought it may break it but I got annoyed, very annoyed :(

Now it works fine. Just don't try and ram the 2.5 end into your phone.

No, my 3.5mm headphone plug fits in the 3.5mm end of the adapter. However, the 2.5mm plug on the adapter does fit in the 2.5mm socket on the phone, but is very loose. It doesn't seem to click in or stay held in. I've tried several adapters, cables, plugs and they are all the same.

Pulse froze and double posted :(

Anyhow have you considered the possibility that your pulse may have a falty 2.5?

One thing to look out for is that the adapter idealy should have 3 black rings (to allow sterio and voice) I don't know if that will make a difference..

If you do think your port could be falty then you could hand it into a T-Mobile shop under warrenty. Just reinstall the december update, or 2.1 I guess to remove all trace of any custom roms
