factory reset

ok i have been searching through this forum and google and i cant find a genuine guide on how to do factory reset of a rotted htc desire. can someone please point me inthe right direction or explain it please.

turn phone on holding down the 'vol down' button, select clear data, when finished let it reboot and you're back stock factory
