2.1 Rom Issues / Problems (report log)

Hi all,

Just a thought and maybe a rubbish one. :(

As Paul is away at the moment and everyone seems to be chatting all over the place, why dont we try and record all of the 2.1 issues that people are having in one place and then this will make it nice and easy to channel the fantastic knowledge and energy that you all have into making things better overall.

I think it would work if we could just keep it nice and clear. Lets try to focus this on issues and maybe things will get solved so much quicker.

A suggested format for posts could be;

Problem: Market not working

Details : When loading up market using A2SD apps will not install on the device and others are missing all together

Display Problem: On occasions the Displays frezes

Details: A couple of times when I was using NewsRob and got redirected to a web page my display froze. I am sure it was just the display. You could switch the backlight off but then it didn't come back on. I assume the phone was working fine as I have tried to turn off the phone but I have always selected the Airplane mode. Then I had to remove the battery. Anyone experienced this?

Problem: Bluetooth "hidden" setup back to default after reboot

Details: when I set the Bluetooth visibility to "hidden", and I make a reboot, the visibility back to "Everybody can see".

Problem: Unknown call in call list

Details: When I get a call with unknown phone number, the phone choose a contact from phone book (I don't know the algorithm), and in the call list I see that contact's name, not the "Unknown number" label, but when I select that contact's name in the call list, the phone write "Unknown number".

I don'y know if this is a bug, but sure is annoying for me, first couple of seconds ringing on a phone call is silent and than gradualy increases volume untill very loud sound! Is there a way arround this?

I also noticed this. It happend too me two times in the marketplace, first it gives a message about no network connectivity and when i click "wait" a few seconds later it freezes. Another time was when sending a sms via handcent, the screen freezes (the moving circle) then the screen goes black and never comes back again. when i push the power button, i can see the keys light up, but the screen stays black. The only option is to remove and put de battery back in.

We really need more information than that please. What rom are you using? Have you partitioned the SD card correctly?

When installing Apps from SD card they were installed in the phone memory.

Same issue with the ringtone. See post #5

Hi:

I'm having issues with my 3G radio in the U8220-6.

In both Android 1.5 and Android 2.1 I can't get the 3G to work. I don't have the 2G only ticket checked and also I've checked that it's not a SIM problem, because in another 3G phone, it connects to the 3G network without issues.

Can someone tell me of an app or utility that let me know about the 3G radio, stats, logs, if it's working, etc..

Any help would be appreciated.

I´m using upd8-r6-2.1-pulse-a2sd+-vanilla-signed.zip, I just received 2 calls, when each of them have finished my phone rebooted (I got 2 reboots)

Update you phone with official UPDATE from T-Mobile Hungary then install any ROM from this site based on that update......

thanks for your reply, I read that my device is the 8220-6 model (I´m from Argentina), someone has adviced me to not install the Hungary rom unless I want to mess the radio frequencies of the gsm and 3G.

after update my android to version 2.1 (ROM

Hungary), not connected to the 3G network, EDGE mode only.

Anyone have any idea how to fix this issue?

Also I have another issue that I dragged from the Version 1.5

The touch screen goes crazy and just start moving icons to the Trash. I have performed several tests:

- At first I thought it was some application, so let the phone by default, without positive results.

- I remove the screen protector and cleaning. The continuing problem.

- I update the android to version 2.0 and after a time the problem happened again.

So this thinking is not a software problem but rather hardware .. Anyone have any news?

Problem: Bluetooth Handsfree

Details:

There are a lot of strange Problems with my Parrot Bluetooth Hands Free that i did not have with the older Roms.

-Phone number are displayed strange in my Handsfree.

Number in my Phonebook = 02851 97512 and my Handsfree displays 028-519-7512

-Some Numbers get cut.

Number in my Phonebook = 02851 97512 and my Handsfree displays 028-519-512

-Sometimes my handsfree displays the contacts email adress instead of the phone number

-My contacts get sorted by Lastname but are displayed in the order firstname lastname

I tried hungarian,modaco and oscillation rom they all have the same problems.

Frequent reboots that seem to happen when using 3G or (roaming) GPRS. I'm using a T-mobile locked phone with a SmartSIM unlocker and a 3 simcard. Didn't have any reboots at all until I set up the 3 APN internet settings (I was using Wifi okay before this)

Pulse 2.1: Oscillation ROM R7, Vanilla ROM - RMB/Switz/T-Mob/Sunrise 2.1

I followed the guide, installed the hungarian rom, but didn't install the extra app part, then installed the rom (R6B)

If anyone needs any (fast) webspace to drop any roms (rather than using those awful rapidshare things!), I can provide... pm me.

That was occasional problem on leaked ROM...after installing T-Mobile Hungary update and Paul's MODACO custom ROM the problem was gone....I don't have any reboots or FC what so ever

Error "cannot connect to camera". Had to nand restore original Hungarian update.

I have the same problem except when the ringtone start ringing and increasing, after 2 seconds it stop, and there is only vibrating. I had the same problem with other roms.

I don't have the rebooting / FC problem, the display simply freezes and becomes unresponsive. If i lock the screen it dims down, but doesn't come back again.

I've installed the hungrian rom and i've install r7 MCR.

i have a problem with inputmethod.voice

it seams it wants to rescan my music every time i start the musicplayer an crashes. first i thought its the player itself but when i read the FC msg more closely i saw it was inputmethod.voice

another problem i have is that live wallpaper seams to stop/deactivate when memory runs out or so i dont know exactly

after listening to music for a few minutes the display goes dark and sometimes the live wallpaper is deactivated when i activate the phone again

i was not able to replicate the steps that case that exactly

FC on gapps ( or so ) comes sometimes when returning to the desktop. click on wait works - so its not a nuisance to have to click it but thats not that much of a problem :(

running r7WIP (initial update was hungarian WITHOUT customize.hu)

are my problems related to custimized.hu?
