HTC Desire lost at Birmingham Airport

Just posting this on the off-chance. Rushing about and late for a

flight, I left my Desire in a europcar hire car at Birmingham Airport

last week. Of all things the phone insurance was still 10 days away

from covering the phone.

I realized where I'd left the phone just as I passed through security and

checked my pockets.

I'd just flashed a new ROM on with Lookout instead of Wavesecure and

as soon as I got home I checked the GPS location which showed a location

that certainly wasn't near the airport.

:( Not a good week.

Damn man that's harsh.

I don't know alot about Lookout but don't you get the phone number of the person if he enters his SIM?

Might be worth just to call him and hope he has some humanity ;p.

Really hope you get it back! Goodluck with it!

Did you try to call europcar, they may have found it, and moved it to a place

for lost property.

Yep nothing found or handed in. Called them literally 15 mins after I dropped

off the car to tell them. Very unhelpful.

Call this guy and give him the GPS coordinates. Problem solved...

have you tried calling or texting the number that it's being used with now to offer a reward for return? it's probably going to be sold by some junkie for £20 or the current "owner" may want to return it if they think it will give them up to the police and they can convert it into a small amount of cash, no questions asked!

or it could still be in the car..... AND give europcar some grief as their driver/light fingered valet people would have found it anyway!
