Guest phantasmagoria Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 (edited) I put a generic ROM via goldcard on my desire without rooting it about two weeks ago in order to get rid of all the stupid orange shite and everything went swimmingly. i've been using it since then no problem. About twenty minutes ago it asked me if i wanted to update it, which i accepted and it downloaded and installed the update fine, but now it's requesting an SIM network unlock PIN and has locked me out of everything. It's an orange phone with an orange sim card in it, what's the crack? anyone else had this problem? Edited June 4, 2010 by phantasmagoria
Guest pampyre Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 I think I've read elsewhere that a radio update will do this to us Orange folks. I guess you can either unlock ($$$) or just roll-back to an older radio/ROM.
Guest phantasmagoria Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 how irritating. can anyone recommend a decent (legitimate) unlocking website?
Guest Mark Hartley Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 how irritating. can anyone recommend a decent (legitimate) unlocking website? I'm now in the same boat as you, but I use the RUU file from XDA developers. I tried rolling back to the previous version but it failed, so I've requested an unlock code from http://www.htcsimunlock.com/htc-desire-unlock.html Just a waiting game now! Cheers Mark

Guest phantasmagoria Posted June 5, 2010 Report Posted June 5, 2010 just to say that getting an unlock code from that link worked 100%, it took a few hours to deliver but it's now unlocked and working fine. I too had to enter the code twice.
Guest lazyeejay Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 just to say that getting an unlock code from that link worked 100%, it took a few hours to deliver but it's now unlocked and working fine. I too had to enter the code twice. I too used this site after upgrading on an Orange Desire and finding myself locked out and can confirm they delivered what they promised. It arrived in the spam section but after entering it twice, my phone was unlocked :) . It took just over an hour but all is good now.
Guest CaspaTheGhost Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 Anyone of you guys noticed any improvement with regards to the 3G > H data issue? The one where no data sends while its on 3G (with signal of course), only works when it jumps to H (there are a number of threads about it)... Cant be arsed with the hassle you guys have ahd to go through with the OTA update, but if it solves the data issue then I will be bothered! thanks...
