Nandroid restore

Okay, I've had a play with a few 2.1 roms and I'm not finding them very stable. How can I get the nandroid backup restored?

Is it as simple as RedKey->Menu boot then selecting a restore?

If anyone needs any (fast) webspace to host a rom (rather than using those awful rapidshare things!), I can provide... pm me.

Unfortunately I don't think you can restore to a 1.5 ROM from 2.1 as the partitiuon layout has changed...

If you can't restore, what's the point in doing the backup? :(

As for the web space, PM Daniel Williamson about the dropbox account here

I was offering not requesting :(

I must admit I have wondered that myself, but everyone recommends it :o

It's possible I'm mistaken about it.

Ah right cool - probably worth contacting the maintainers of the ROMS in each thread. Also a few people are working on kitchen apps which would benefit from online storage, so it could be worth offering in those threads too :(

You can't go back using an UPDATA but you can install MCR or something similar. The touchscreen won't work though.

2.1 changes the partition layout and there's no way to go backwards at the moment...

backups/restores are good when trying custom roms...not when applying firmware upgrades.
