Guest ZeBadger Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 (edited) Okay, I've had a play with a few 2.1 roms and I'm not finding them very stable. How can I get the nandroid backup restored? Is it as simple as RedKey->Menu boot then selecting a restore? If anyone needs any (fast) webspace to host a rom (rather than using those awful rapidshare things!), I can provide... pm me. Guest ZeBadger Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 (edited) I don't know why there was a double post! Sorry! Edited June 4, 2010 by ZeBadger
Guest Stevos Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 Nandroid restore is just from that menu as you say. Unfortunately I don't think you can restore to a 1.5 ROM from 2.1 as the partitiuon layout has changed... As far as I know anyway, I haven't tried it. As for the web space, PM Daniel Williamson about the dropbox account here http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...310206/dropbox/

If you can't restore, what's the point in doing the backup? :( As for the web space, PM Daniel Williamson about the dropbox account here I was offering not requesting :(
Guest Stevos Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 If you can't restore, what's the point in doing the backup? :( I must admit I have wondered that myself, but everyone recommends it :o It's possible I'm mistaken about it. I was offering not requesting :o Ah right cool - probably worth contacting the maintainers of the ROMS in each thread. Also a few people are working on kitchen apps which would benefit from online storage, so it could be worth offering in those threads too :(
Guest Speckles Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...ere-a-way-back/ Apparently there is a way back. I've not tried it myself as I find 2.1 quite stable.
Guest Evil Disco Guy Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 Unfortunately I don't think you can restore to a 1.5 ROM from 2.1 as the partitiuon layout has changed... You can't go back using an UPDATA but you can install MCR or something similar. The touchscreen won't work though.
Guest Jan M Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 2.1 changes the partition layout and there's no way to go backwards at the moment... backups/restores are good when trying custom roms...not when applying firmware upgrades.
