Guest -Wii- Posted June 5, 2010 Report Posted June 5, 2010 Right so I was thinking, why is the phone lagging really? its a little odd is it not, anyway out of boredom, just to see what the phone actually did animation wise with all the animations turned on, i switched it on to have a look, its been on for about 4 hours now, the phone hasn't lagged out once? it doesn't hang when returning to home screen it just does its nice little animation and goes back effortlesly? with the animation on, it lags for a good second or two. Anyone care to explain that! Makes no sense what so over but I assure you it works on my phone? As said before, don't treat this OS like its windows I suppose :( :( :o :o

Guest Simon O Posted June 5, 2010 Report Posted June 5, 2010 I don't believe there is some actual performance increase by turning the animations off. It may appear to be faster as the phone isn't drawing any animations but the amount of CPU power needed to do the animations is extremely low.

Yea fair enough, but what I am saying is that there is a performance increase turning it on? Maybe the system is built with the idea of having it on, and turning it off is forcing more processes to be opened Ie actually slowing it down? Just speculating on that of course.

I just tried turning it off (I did have it on) and it's certainly no slower.
Guest ogiogi Posted June 5, 2010 Report Posted June 5, 2010 The caller screen definitely comes on faster if animations are OFF
Guest BigBearMDC Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 The caller screen definitely comes on faster if animations are OFF Maybe because you set the animation speed to slow? :)
Guest mark2410 Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 weird but same here, mine seems to go slow much less often
Guest Stevos Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 Maybe the animation code has some sort of memory or resource leak. (I haven't tried this yet)
