Installed latest ROM - no data connection!

I've installed the latest MoDaCo rom, and the latest radio.

However, I no longer have a mobile data connection. I've gone into APN and it's blank. I tried entering the settings (which I found on another site), however, despite this the APN screen remained blank.

Can anybody help with this, as without a data connection it kind of renders much of the phone useless!

I'm on a 3uk HTC Hero - I've rooted previously and have run a number of custom roms previously. I was using Villainrom 5.3 before installing the newest MoDaCo rom.

I suggest you find the APN setting for 3UK and add the settings manually - I had to do this for my Dutch provider as well.

I had the same problem although settings showing . Went to network operators and chose my operator took a minute and then all worked fine.

and for people still having the same problem: I had to set my connection to GSM only. As soon as I set it to WCDMA/GSM auto, it fails again...

anyone having the problem that the connection sticks to 3g and does't switch to HSDPA?

I do. All day long in Oporto and always with 3G on but no HSDPA!!! My network is TMN in Portugal.

I guess it's because I didn't update the radio. I've flashed the Villain rom 10 which includes the radio update. I now have HSDPA and I'm still in the same spot as before :)

Nah. We fixed the cause of the APNs not working :)
