Guest jackdaniels_lee Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 Seems us brits are getting wasted by our European comrades! Interesting that three seems to be getting an early lead! In the UK Data speed a lot of the time is down to how busy the network is at the time, the strange thing is the speed reported from 3UK as they piggyback on the Orange Network :) I know for a fact that now Orange + T-Mobile have joined forces under "Everything Everywhere" things will improve vastly for us once the networks are joined over the next 6 months or so. The future is bright :)

The future is bright :) Three only fallback to the orange network for 2g when a three 3g signal is not available as they do not have a 2g network. So, in fact three's 3g and hsdpa data doesn't go anywhere near the orange network thankfully. Also it is very true mobile data speeds depend on the network being able to handle the traffic its paying customers send to it. Therefore saying "our network is very congested" is absolutely not an excuse, in fact its a sign of a poor operator! I had a very poor signal on three at my home and the Orange 2g signal was just as bad. I phoned up three to complain and they gave me 2 months free line rental and send a mast engineer out and upgraded the mast. I now have a pretty good signal in the house. You could have knocked me down with a feather Edited June 6, 2010 by Namtaffy
Guest LUTRAM Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 Maybe a good idea to add 'which network' or 'rate network' to the poll to get an idea of which is best and worst network Network operators should keep there networks up with the standard of technology of the handsets they supply to customers, the desire is capable of so much more, only restricted by the network it is connected to. NAME and SHAME I say ! Modify the poll and get there names up there!

NAME and SHAME I say ! Modify the poll and get there names up there! That's the idea of posting in the thread as making a rating poll for each network looks a bit long winded! Hopefully, as data is very important to us smartphone users we can get an idea of which network is best for when its contract renewal time

Guest jdouce Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 (edited) of course 3 have the lead... mobile internet is there THING ... but tbh this is dependant entirely on location... and time of day for instance if i runt he speed test at 1 am i know the mast near me is only does 3.6 Mb/s and illy get 3.6 if u run the same test from the same location at lunch time ill get 2-3 the masts only support i finite total bandwidth Edited June 6, 2010 by jdouce
