Guest Speckles Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 I'm quite happy with the Contacts app (which Messages and dialer both use anyway), but I've no idea how to get rid of the 'My Phonebook' icon when listing all applications. Anyone know? I've gone through all the APKs in the /system/app dir, but none seem to match.

Anyone know? I've gone through all the APKs in the /system/app dir, but none seem to match. That's because it is a part of contacts.apk, and it would require to be removed from within the app. I think there was a way to hide which apps show using autostarts or something similar, or maybe that was only for widgets...
Guest Speckles Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 Or maybe I can take a contacts.apk from another rom?
Guest whackster Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 (edited) Of course, but I thought you were happy with the way it looked :) You can change it with the vanilla one, but then the display will be slightly different. Edited June 6, 2010 by whackster
Guest Speckles Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 I'm happy with the way the contacts look, I'm not happy with an icon called "My Phonebook". Maybe I'll get used to it. After all, its not every day you need to visit your complete list of apps. Most of them will be sorted onto various home screens.
Guest eckengucker1 Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 Just edit the .app and insert another icon
