Can't Apply any radio updates.....

Hi all,

I am currently going through the process of updating my MoDaCo ROM on my Hero. I was previously running v2.9 and whatever the latest radio was at that the point that v2.9 was released.

I have successfully upgraded to the 3.2 ROM but I am unable to upgrade the radio (in this case 63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26 or 63.18.55.06JU_6.35.08.29). When I launch the update from RA-hero-v1.5.2 it goes through the motions of extracting the radio and then stops (not sure if it should show a confirmation stating that the radio flash was successful?) When I reboot the phone it displays the image of the phone outside of a white box and reloads the system recovery menu. At this stage I can restore my nandbackup and the phone is fine.

With the release of the MCR 4.0 ROM I am obviously quite keen to work out why this is happening! Can anybody point me in the right direction please?

Thanks

That sure sounds like a successful radio upgrade to me. The process you described is exactly what happens when updating radio.

Check the version in Settings -> About to see if you upgraded or not.

Thanks for the reply Eddie...

Yeah I just checked and yes the radio has been upgraded. I don't remember doing that before though?!

So everytime I wish to do a radio upgrade I need to:

(1 - Do a nand backup

(2 - Apply new radio

(3 - Restore nand backup?

Thanks,

why would you restore the backup? even creating one doesn't help in this case, since it doesn't include radio. so you can skip steps 1 and 3 :)

No, when it reboots into recovery after the phone box icon just reboot again and it will load android as normal.

No need for Nandroid, it doesn't touch or affect radio in any way.
