Guest JimJam707 Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 Hey there MoDaCo. As most of you know I'm getting the pulse in one month (exactly :) ) and I'm wondering which is the better way to buy the pulse, on contract or PAYG. Take not, I'm not planning on spending more than £200 a year. So £15/10 should be ok. Oh, and another thing, I need unlimited internet. Thanks, Jamie
Guest Speckles Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 Depends on your amount of phone calls really. If you go PAYG, you can get 6 months free internet for £20. But of course contract means cheaper calls, included calls, and sometimes included text and internet. They state unlimited means 1GB/month.

If you go over you won't be charge however if you make a habit of it they'll be wanting words with you and probably try to sell you something :) If you can get your pulse for less than me a month (12.50 average) with the phone free then its a good deal. you get a free booster too (unlimited texts, calls etc) Thing that I like about a contract phone is you don't have to count your credit as it quickly dries up. Pluss you can make that random call / joke text without thinking (is that worth 20p?)
Guest tgomas Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 From T Mobile UK I got 100 mins, unlimited texts and 3gb internet for £7.50 a month. It came with free Pulse and is a 24 month contract. Give them a ring and see if you can get it!
Guest Speckles Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 7.50? Is that a typo? Seems too cheap. It's only £180 for the two years. I almost paid that for my PAYG Pulse!

No I've got mine on a £7.50 24 month contract just the other day...that's why I'm here. :) 100 minutes, 100 texts, flexible booster (unlimited texts or landline calls or t-mobile calls) plus 'unlimited' internet (which I guess is 3gb fair use). Apparently if you bug them they'll chuck in a copilot kit with dash mount and stuff. http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/682694/t-mo...a-month-24-mont Edited June 7, 2010 by weateallthepies

Guest tgomas Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 It is £5 for first 12 months and £10 for second 12 or £7.50 all the way through. Phone up and say your friend got the deal and you wanted it, they will try and tell you it is for existing customers only but tell them your friend was not. He will then go to "talk to his manager" and come back with the deal.
Guest TheBrownBottle Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 On PAYG if you top up £10 you get unlimited internet and texts the next month. So if you can't get the deal above and you know you'll use £10 per month it may be an option.

So if you can't get the deal above and you know you'll use £10 per month it may be an option. You don't even have to use £10 per month though really do you? I did it for 5 months in a row. After the 5th month I ended up £43 in credit, so then I asked them for the 6 month free internet (£20) meaning I'm still over £20 in credit now. I've just rang them up for this deal, got the usual "it's only for existing contract customers" followed shortly by an unusual "But I don't really see why you can't have it if you pass our credit check". So, now I have a spare phone coming in 2 days time which is only £30 more than my current one on PAYG and has 100 Free All-Network Minutes, 100 Free Text Messages, Unlimited Internet and Unlimited Landline calls for 24 months. Bargain! Oh, and a free Co-Pilot too, whatever that is :) (is it a software app for Android or hardware or both?)

Guest Speckles Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 Anyone read t-mobiles UK web site recently? Internet on your phone: 1GB per month fair use policy applies (of data both sent and received in the UK) Where does it say 3GB?
Guest mr.a Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 (edited) Anyone read t-mobiles UK web site recently? Internet on your phone: 1GB per month fair use policy applies (of data both sent and received in the UK) Where does it say 3GB? exact tmobile wording : "Pay monthly plans which include internet on your phone on an Android phone You'll need internet coverage, check it at t-mobile.co.uk/streetcheck. Remember that you can only use your internet on your phone Booster in the UK and you can't use your phone as a modem or use web'n'walk Plus for peer to peer file sharing, or making internet phone calls. *Internet on your phone comes with a fair use policy of 3GB a month. We'll monitor how much you send and receive each calendar month so that we can protect our network for all our internet on your customers. If you use more than your fair use policy amount, we won't charge you any more, but we may restrict how you can use your plan, depending on how often you go over your amount and by how much. As your phone is always connected to the internet, if you remove your internet on your phone Plus Booster from your account you'll automatically be charged up to £1 every day. That £1 a day rate has its own fair use policy and other legal stuff, which you can see here: t-mobile.co.uk/services/uk/fairuse/#fup5." :) the 3gb fair use is only for android phones. for the others it is 1gb Edited June 8, 2010 by mr.a
Guest Speckles Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 The T-Mobile web site is so confusing :) On one page it says 3GB, and on another it says 1GB. I've even seen it say 1GB on the page with the Pulse on! If you have a pay monthly plans which include internet on your Android phone its 3GB. If you have a pay monthly plan, but don't have an Android phone, it's 1GB If you have a pay monthly plan which doesn't include internet and you get internet via a booster, it's 1GB If you use PAYG internet (or PAYG account), it can be anything depending on how much internet you asked for, from 40MB to 1GB Sheesh. Talk about confusion.
