o2 contract MMS Settings on 2.1

Can someone please post the full o2 MMS settings as they should be on o2 contract under Android 2.1 ?

The phone adds 2 APNs - Mobile web and o2 MMS but the o2 MMS APN has the pay and go details populated and for some reason when I try to alter them it still doesnt work.

Incidentally, the "APN type" is set to MMS as default. With that setting in place there is not selection rasio button next to the MMS APN in the APN list. If I delete the entry from "APN type" the radio button appears. As far as I remember, under 1.5 there was a radio button next to both APNs in the list - not sure if this makes any difference ?

Leave the APN types alone as the phone will automatically swap profiles when sending an mms. But as you say, you do need to change the payg settings in the MMS apn.

The final change to get it working will require root access so you will need to to be using one of the 2.1 custom roms: Use a file explorer such as Root Explorer to locate & edit the local.prop file found in /Data . In the file you will see mcc & mnc entries that will need to be changed to that of o2 (234 & 10).

Weird - I did some more playing around last night and managed to receive an MMS message....but I still cant send - not sure why ?!

Should EFS File explorer allow me to edit that file ? Ive tried to locate it but the \data directory just displays "Empty Folder"

Yea I think you can, you need to go into to the apps settings and there should be a couple of options about mounting system folders or something...

Tried opening with EFS File Explorer (with system folder access enabled) and it says "Error occured when getting file content".

Ive tried using the "Open As Text" option and opening in File Editor but that displays "File not found" !

Are there any free file explorer apps which I could use to edit the file ?

Alternatively, if youve got o2 MMS working OK on your Pulse could you just upload your local.prop file ?

Thanks !

After changing local.prop, I had to edit the o2 MMS APN such that the username / password was wap / password.

The next MMS sent fine.

Ive amended the ro.config.mmc value to 234 and the ro.config.mnc to 10 using root explorer but still cant receive or send MMS messages (Ive also changed the APN settings to the correct contract ones)

I noticed that my ro.product.locale.region is set to US - could this be affecting it ? Should I change it to UK ?

Thanks.

Not sure if the locale would affect it, but I changed mine when I first installed the rom so that region=GB and language=en so maybe it does help? If that doesn't work I would make sure you've got the right APN settings. Are you on contract?

Edit: Just re-read your 1st post & you say you are on contract. I'll attach my apns-conf.xml file, just replace yours (back it up first) in /system/etc/. After that remember to go to the APN settings screen and press menu then select reset to default. You should then have have two APNs, only one should have a dot next it though as the phone will automatically switch to the MMS one when you need it.
