Guest Paul Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Has anyone found it yet? I can get 'emergency mode' but not fastboot... P
Guest mrseb Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Has anyone found it yet? I can get 'emergency mode' but not fastboot... P No, no luck. But I only got it this morning... so I'll keep trying! I'm new to this -- I presume I need to get into fastboot/recovery mode before I can put Android 2.1 or 2.2 on the GT540, right? It's a brand new phone with almost no info about it... so I'm slightly out of my depths :)
Guest Paul Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 We need fastboot before we can mess with the recovery image really, which is an important first step... P

Guest TheLostSwede Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 (edited) Volume up + Camera and power on should apparently also work... Edited June 23, 2010 by TheLostSwede
Guest mrseb Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Volume up + Camera and power on should apparently also work... Confirmed, that combination works. I now have a bright blue screen with '! Emergency Mode' on the screen. That firmware link above is broken, by the way. (What do I do now...?)
Guest TheLostSwede Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Confirmed, that combination works. I now have a bright blue screen with '! Emergency Mode' on the screen. That firmware link above is broken, by the way. (What do I do now...?) Have a look here for the ROM upgrade http://android.modaco.com/content/lg-gt540...pdates-from-lg/ Please be aware that it's for the Baltics, some Cyrillic regions and Romania, but it also has English and Korean. I had to use KDZ_FW_UPD to get it to install and there's no need to place the handset in Emergency mode to install the firmware.
Guest webfreak Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 (edited) By pressing 'Call Button' and 'Home Button', then power on, system boots up in a 'Safe Mode'. I don't know if this is known mode or not, just telling. (Maybe I've just f*cked something). Edited June 25, 2010 by webfreak
Guest hecatae Posted July 2, 2010 Report Posted July 2, 2010 (edited) camera button + power button, leaves screen blank, 4pda.ru have reported this to be fastboot mode. going to try without battery, as the gw620 goes to fastboot mode without battery, screen dim lit then press menu and space a destructive way to get to fast boot on the GW620 would be: 1) cat /dev/zero >/dev/mtd/mtd2 2) reboot LG left /proc/config.gz on the GW620, can someone check the same file exists on the GT540 answered my own questions here http://android.modaco.com/content/lg-gt540...94/cpuinfo-etc/ the above on the GW620 is pkg, GW620 only has MTD1 - MTD6, GT540 has MTD0 - MTD 8 ok plug in usb without battery attached, you get a please put on battery cover animation hold camera button, insert usb cable, screen dim lit but nothing else ok just done dev/zero screen goes to lg boot screen then dim lit black screen Edited July 11, 2010 by hecatae
