Guest ziritrion Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Hi everyone, n00b here. I got my sim-free HTC Desire yesterday. It's my first Android phone, so I'm still getting to know how everything works. However, I can't figure out how bluetooth headsets work. I'm using the stock firmware. I've got a Sennheiser MM200 Bluetooth headset which I've successfully used on a 2G iPhone and a Palm Pre. iPhone 2G doesn't actually have AD2P support, but you can enable it even though the back and forward buttons don't work. The Palm Pre AD2P profile works flawlessly. But the HTC Desire won't recognize any buttons except volume up and down: I can't pause, skip a song or go to a previous one, which forces me to use the screen for it. I'm a Spotify Premium user, and in one of the screens I've set up the Spotify widget, along with Android's music player widget and the XiaaLive widget. Whenever I press the play/stop button on my headset, nothing happnes for a few seconds and then a message pops up saying that "sorry, the file you're trying to play doesn't exist anymore". I currently have no songs on my phone except for some offline Spotify playlists. I've tried taking out all widgets except for Spotify's with no luck. Hopefully this is a known issue and there's a fix for it. Thanks in advance!
Guest ziritrion Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Also, since we're talking about Spotify: Whenever I start using Spotify, an icon shows up in the notification bar. Spotify doesn't have a Stop button per se; instead it just pauses the song and leaves a Pause icon in the notification bar. The icon is very annoying, and even though it's not recommended I've installed a task killer just to shut down Spotify so the icon doesn't show up. Is there any way to get rid of that icon without having to use a task manager?
Guest foxmeister Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Is there any way to get rid of that icon without having to use a task manager? Yes, use the exit button on the menu! Note, you need to be on your list of playlists and press menu. On your first question, I've no problems with my bluetooth headset controlling Spotify. Check that you haven't installed any other applications which may take control of your headset controls - I recently installed the Doubletwist player and it assumed control over my headset controls even when Spotify was running. Regards, Dave
