Guest InsideOut Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 (edited) I wanna use the stock ROM, but my only problem is the lack of Hebrew. I rooted my Desire (using the file from the instructions on this forum - r5-desire-root-alt.zip) and also installed Hebrew fonts from a file I found on another forum (r1-hebrew-desire-signed.zip), but the problem is I lost multitouch. Is there any way to stay with the most up to date stock ROM and only add Hebrew? Thanks Edited June 9, 2010 by InsideOut

If so - you have a another problem it's not the rom you installed. I have modaco rom and still has the multitouch ability (with hebrew fonts). hope it helped
Guest InsideOut Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 (edited) I want to use the stock ROM because I have no use for MoDaCo's features.. except Hebrew support :) so I'm trying to find a ROM which is just like the stock one (with the lastest updates if possible) but with Hebrew added... or at least instructions on how I can create such ROM if it isn't too complicated :) Thanks Edited June 10, 2010 by InsideOut
Guest liriboy Posted June 12, 2010 Report Posted June 12, 2010 You can join as "Ad Free" user to bake ROM in the kitchen so you can de-select all Modaco additions if you like... :)
Guest Jagdish Posted June 12, 2010 Report Posted June 12, 2010 Rebooting your handst with the Hebrew keyboard(lemme guess anysoft?) as default would fix your multitouch problems... Good luck mate.

He is right, forgot about that.. I've installed Smart Keyboard a few weeks ago and I'm strongly recommend it.
Guest InsideOut Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 Yeah I actually got the multitouch back but didn't know how it happened, now I know, thanks :)
Guest Shofar1 Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 Is there any way of adding Hebrew support with stock ROM? Htc Deisre, sim free, unbranded?
Guest Jagdish Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Is there any way of adding Hebrew support with stock ROM? Htc Deisre, sim free, unbranded? Just flash the Hebrew fonts zip from sd and there you have it...
Guest Shofar1 Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Just flash the Hebrew fonts zip from sd and there you have it... Thanks for the info but as a real newbie to Android and Desire, could you point me to the Hebrew fonts and explain how to zip it to sd? I trust this will NOT remove my English keyboard but allow the use of both. And this will allow me to read Hebrew SMS. Thanks again
Guest InsideOut Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 (edited) Shofar1: You need to root your Desire first, then get the file here and copy it to your SD card. Then go to the recovery mode like you did in the rooting process and flash that file to your device. This will only allow you to see Hebrew letters. To be able to write in Hebrew, you will need to install AnySoftKeyboard + AnySoftKeyboard Hebrew Language Pack (both are free). Edited June 3, 2011 by Paul
Guest liriboy Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 I am using SmartKeyboard instead, I think it's better. You should try them both ;) good luck
