Guest okkenbom Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Hi, using the HTC mail client for 2.1 and trying to setup exchange activesync. It seems something went wrong when trying to autodetect the settings from my email address, and it went to manual settings (which I don't know). Now when I retry, it seems it remembers my account (even though it is deleted it shows up as an autocomplete suggestion) and goes straight to manual setup when I click next (I can see that from the speed - it is no way it is trying to contact the server to get settings). Anyone know any way for the client to totally forget the account and make it try to autodetect again? Thanks

Thanks Just pop into /data/app and delete the folder com.htc.mail I think that's the one, but can't check just now.
Guest okkenbom Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Couldn't find anything there, but found com.htc.android.mail in data/data. Deleted that, and had to enter credentials for my working account, but it still remembered the faulty one in the account dropdown (when creating a new one) and that one still went straight to manual setup without contacting the server. Any ideas where this info is stored?
Guest Alastyr Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 contact your isp/exchange-provider and get the info? :-) It's good to have handy anyway.
