Guest Nesli Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Hello, our A1 (runing 1.100.05) is able to record video at 800x480 and it looks pretty nice, but developpers on XDA hacks Nexus camera app and make it able to record 720p(1280x720) video :) Framerate is not so good for the moment (12-17fps, CPU processing), but they are working on it :) http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/09/nexus-o...est-hack-video/ I hope when the 720p modification for N1 will be ready, it should be ported to our Liquid as well (maybe lower framerate, but about 15fps is usuable :) ) My friend with N1 tried it and he said that the quality is awesome :)
Guest mmkim Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 framerate is a problem from our Liquid.........so...... I'm not hope that have 720p to record funtion in my Liquid. Becuase Liquid have 768 cpu only. And if Liuqid use 2.2 Froy.........and need overclock the cpu correctly first!! After overclock can run correctly and have kernal sorce code, can add 720p funtion. :)
Guest jayziac Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 (edited) 1 ghz is only slightly faster 768 mhz, so not likely to provide enough power for more frame rates. Maybe there's some hardware acceleration that can tweaked to make it better, but I'm guessing the HW limitations is why Acer didn't provide it in the first place. What would be more useful is 30fps or something smoother than the current fps in the default video camera. Edited June 9, 2010 by jayziac
Guest Piter1225 Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Other side is that, you know, is it really necessary? I think most of us use Liquids camcorder to record short vids at the parties, with friends, or in other unique situations. If u have watched Evo 4G video samples, recorded in 720p, supported by default, u can see that its really nothing outstanding, even when this functionality is included originally, so everything is prepared as good as possible. Anyway, that's only my point of view. I wish luck everyone who will work on this idea.
Guest eumate Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 if encoding was made from cpu in the n1, it wouldn't get that framerate at all... so I think that the frame limit isn't cpu related, and we may able to achieve the same performance of n1.
