Guest kamikase Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 (edited) FYI: http://googlemobile.blogspot.com/2010/06/f...navigation.html Today we’re launching Google Maps Navigation version 4.2 in Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and Switzerland for Android devices 1.6 and higher. already tested it - worked great no more need for cracked versions or the market enabler :) greeting kase Edited June 9, 2010 by kamikase
Guest rss2k Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Just tried it today and it works, but I prefer IGO8.
Guest Speckles Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 It works nice, I really like the fact you can overlay satellite imagery over the top of the map rather than just seeing boring lines, but wow, it uses some data then. I don't think I could do a full journey with it.
Guest rss2k Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 Today I tried the Google navigate little bit more. It is really nice, but I have 1 big problem with it. When I have used it and restart it after a while for a new journey it cannot find a GPS fix. I have to reboot the phone in order to remedy this. If I use IGO8 or Sygic I do not have this problem (unless I have started Google navigate first). It seems Google Navigate lets the GPS in limbo. I have seen this with Modaco R7 2.1 Rom and FLB beta3 ROM. Am I the only one with this problem?

I get the GPS fix OK but the voice instructions are a bit dodgy, Sometimes they work fine & then stop working, occasionally starting up again later and other times they just don't work at all. Not sure if it is memory related, I'm running the 2.1 Hungarian and everything else seems fine. Tried Googling and it seems a common issue with some other phones - the G1 springs to mind.
