Guest tomas.drahonovsky Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 (edited) Does it worth to flash my Liquid by custom ROM (exactly LCR), when i´m currently using ROM leak 1.100.05? The main issues that drive me crazy are total phone laziness (probably ineffective RAM use), slow SMS, random rebooting and unsensivity of touchscreen. Does custom ROM solves these issues? Sorry for rookie questions, till today I was quite afraid of rooting my device, i´m not too skilled user. Thanks in advance! Edited June 10, 2010 by tomas.drahonovsky

The phone is after update very snappy compared to stock bin. Also the problem of random rebooting is solved. If you successfully flashed 1.100.05 bin you will have no problems with flashing custom ROM, just follow instructions attached. And in my opinion LCR rocks, so don't be aware of flashing it :)
Guest Andy__P Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Yes LCR is very fast. Also try LauncherPro or ADWLauncher, they're both awesome ( i prefer LauncherPro ) For screen sensitivity try this: http://android.modaco.com/content/acer-liq...-05-based-roms/ (i think that will be integrated in lcr 1.7 by default which will be released really soon according to malez :) )

Guest tomas.drahonovsky Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Did you do a nandroid backup? Use the key combination (Power+Camera+Volume down) to boot to recovery and restore the backup shows ERROR. I was using manual on theunlockr.com (http://theunlockr.com/2010/03/16/how-to-root-the-acer-liquid/) and this issue appeared after step IV/4, the phone didn´t reboot.
Guest tomas.drahonovsky Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Add me on icq 202834276 .. Bratře;) All hail to Nesli! He spent with me almost an hour repairing my Liquid. So, everything is done and thanks to all of you!
Guest Andy__P Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Maybe you guys could share how you fixed it?
Guest willyaranda Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Yeah, maybe we could do a wiki with this fixes :)
Guest Nesli Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 There are many situations...each needs its own "fix".. ..Tomas had 1.100.05 flashed in his Liquid, he wanted Lcr, root, so he thought that he needs flash superboot (dont ask me why, cause of newbie) and he flashed old superboot..Sollution => flash new, correct boot.img via fastboot, that´s all.

Im going to do a article about how to flash LCR/otherRoms in Spanish, and I would love to clear things up: You just need to Flash the new bin and then flash the recovery (and install the ROM)? Just it? Nothing about superboot? (I'm talking about a new Liquid, just with the standard Stock rom). Thanks for the info :)
Guest Nesli Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 (edited) Yes, exactly as you wrote :) No superboot, etc., new device => flash BIN => flash recovery => flash custom rom.zip => voila, c´est tout :) Edited June 10, 2010 by Nesli
