Email SetUp and "Email-errors" [Dell Streak]

Can anyone gimme some help please?

I am getting 'lost' and confused by the email settings on my Dell Streak

I am on O2 (UK) and setting up an NTLWORLD email account... although I dont think that is the problem

I have set it up to send and received ok (ish)

But after I have worked out the folder set up, although these "class" definitions don't seem very logical to me

When I get an email, they disappear after after a while

I am constantly getting messages into my "Email-errors" folder from K9mail internal with the subject of "Folder does not exist"

can anyone shed some light onto what is going on please? Or point me in the right direction

Thanks

Hi GriZlore,

I can't help you with your current set up as don't use it but what i would do is suggest you check out Seven Push E-Mail Beta program as amazingly it is still free and supports most E-Mail providers and it works really well to with full folder support and is highly customisable to the users needs. The Android version is actually the best IMO much better then either the Windows or Symbain version i have used in the past I've been using it for years now and very rarely if ever see any outages it just does what it's meant to do and is the best real time Push E-Mail service i have used bar none.

Hi..

Thanks for info however..... I have a problem (or misunderstanding)

In my Inbox… why do the email get deleted when I press “Load up to 50 more” or send/receive again?

This is deleting unread and read messages and it doesnt seem to matter what I set my “when i delete a message” server setting as.

Help would be appreciated.

I can't help with those specific issues but I can recommend installing the K9 client from the Android Market - it's much newer than the one pre-installed on the Streak (and therefore has important new features such as batch ops). Perhaps it will work better for you?

Andy, I have downloaded the K9 and i have got it working, however my emails never stay in the inbox... they are deleted out after every send/receive. Whether read or not!

I just cant fathom why ! :)

you could use maildroid, it's fantastic.

Could you let me know what maildroid is and Can you keep it really really really simple as I'm a complete technophobe and don't really understand too much technical jargon.

Will maildroid let me keep my email address ?

check here: http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.maildroid

the only problem for this app is that if you want to open an attachment you will have to install a file explorer first. this mail app works good.
