Guest chris9181 Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Doesn't sound great does it? Am I missing something, is there an App/Music Player that allows you to put a bit of bass on? Cheers Chris
Guest darkdevil1 Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 (edited) Is this with (stock) headphones or using the terrible built-in speakers? Edited June 10, 2010 by darkdevil1
Guest ogiogi Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Which headphones do you use. I use the headphones from my SanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 player. The ones that came with the phone suck big time.

But they are better than Huawei ones. I'm getting these for the Clip BTW http://www.amazon.com/JBuds-Premium-Hi-Fi-...3241&sr=1-4 Edited June 10, 2010 by ogiogi
Guest m4dm3n Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Agree, one supplied with Pulse are absolutly rubbish, using bluetooth set - Jabra BT3030 - no problems and can recommend it as good alternative regrads
Guest chris9181 Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Is this with (stock) headphones or using the terrible built-in speakers? Yes I'm just using the headphones that came with the phone. I just thought that you would be able to adjust base etc. I used to have an equalizer on my cheapo Sony Ericsson which sounded better.
Guest Pipe Merchant Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 you might try getting a headphone amp. the output from the pulse may not be strong enough to get the kind of bass you want!
Guest Simon O Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Sound output from the Pulse is pretty quiet too :)
Guest Rizzly Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 I found that using the G7 V2r2 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=517745 helped make the sound better. Not louder, but less distorted, I noticed the max volume was increased in 2.1 (or imagined), but it was much more distorted than before. This soundmod gives the same volume, but less distortion.
Guest cagster Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 (edited) The Pulse is no ipod :-) Edited June 10, 2010 by cagster
Guest Simon Taylor Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 The sound on the pulse is bloody dreadful. Using normal headphones it is impossible to hear most podcasts over most public transport. As for the London Undergoroud, forget it! The only ones you can listen to with normal headphones are the TWiT ones, since they normalise their audio properly. The stock headphones work better if you stick them in your ears with the grill facing forward - they are louder and bassier like this! Then, and only then, can I hear most of my podcasts. THEN there is the speaker!!!!! I love to listen to podcasts whilst cooking, but even the sound of the kettle boiling drowns out the audio... until of course Louder Volume Hack is installed. But even then, the audio is often distorted unless you turn it down! GRRRRRR this is my one big frustration with the pulse (apart from the battery life, the general slowness, etc etc... but it was only £150, what can I expect! :) ) OK, rant over, I feel better now.
Guest jonathonf Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Sennheiser CX-300s with a 120 Ohm impedance adapter. Can't complain. If you need more volume, stick in a headphone amp (I have a FiiO E5, works well enough when I need it).
