Guest cezent Posted June 12, 2010 Report Posted June 12, 2010 Just want to start a threat about the next Android superphone that we might be anticipating. Since Nexus One, we've had Desire, X10, Legend, Incredible, EVO 4G..other than EVO 4G, none of the rest has really surpass the mighty Nexus One. The big question is, what's next? My pick is the Motorola Droid Xtreme: http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/11/motorol...e-cuff-preview/ This is in my opinion about the most beautiful handset ever released, exceeds the look of EVO 4G or iPhone 4. Given that Motorola did a pretty decent job on the Droid/Milestone, I think the Xtreme could be the one to watch. Anyone else?
Guest qvert Posted June 12, 2010 Report Posted June 12, 2010 (edited) and i am sure it will never be released in europe because maybe verizon only and if it's the same like droid and milestone than the milestone version won't be able to get custom roms etc pp :) otheriwse i really want this phone! edit: if it's really coming next month to verizon... we maybe could ask motorola :) but i am not sure... i mean the new "milestone" (Motorola Mileston XT720) without the keyboard just look s*** and only 3.7'' screen i want an Droid X in europe with the ability to get custom roms :) edit: i thought about it, maybe we have luck ? Verizon HTC Incredible = nearly HTC Desire Verizon HTC Droid Eris = nearly HTC Hero Verizon Droid = Motorola Milestone ?? what do you think? edit: ahh editing again if the battery life at the droid x is as bad as on the evo 4g i don't want it :-) Edited June 12, 2010 by qvert
Guest Posted June 12, 2010 Report Posted June 12, 2010 well based on the specs alone, only thing it has over the N1 is the big screen. I haven't moved onto the digital HD media yet, so HDMI or HD video recording I'm neutral on and doesn't do anything for me. Apart from that.. Android 2.1 with a new motoblur customization? Don't need it. My Nexus One, with or without the Desire ROM? Love it. I think for me it's gonna set the standard for a while... maybe until Google's rumored Android tablet lol sns

However, I do increasingly find the look and feel of Nexus One very boring..Got annoyed kept getting asked "is it an iphone?" rather than " what phone is that?" And u dont get that kind of treatment often on Motorola Milestones or Palm Pre because they ve got their brands signatures all over the designs. A great gadgets needs to have the technology advancement and sharp design to go with it. Nexus One is a great phone as far as technology concerns, unfortunately the "safe" design is dragging its feet. Edited June 12, 2010 by cezent
Guest Posted June 12, 2010 Report Posted June 12, 2010 I get the "what phone is that?" all the time, though not as often as "oh you can do that on your iPhone? I didn't know" till I show them the Google logo on the back lol. Either way, a phone to me isn't a fashion statement or an attention-grabber, I look at what the device can do for me and how well lol
Guest Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 Also the next super Android phone should be something that doesn't just run on Verizon :) Me not being from the US, I'd rather have something GSM/HSPA :)
Guest qvert Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 it's not only the big screen it's additionally better gpu and hdmi out the new motoblur isn't that much aggressiv and you can use another homescreen like launcher pro if you want
Guest Wardski Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 Come on guys, the next biggest baddest and best Android phone coming is the Samsung Galaxy S. With 4", 1Ghz Core A8 (samsung version) and SGX GPU, its a winner. Also has inbuilt memory (8gb or 16gb flavours) The only let down is that the cam doesnt have a LED flash I'll be getting an 8Gb one the moment its released on Expansys
Guest qvert Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 but the update politics from motorla is good, which means the droid and milestone get new version relativley soon compared to HTC don't know how fast samsung updates their phones and, personally i dont like the samsung design from all of their devices and the design of the samsung S is ugly too in my eyes :)
Guest qvert Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 afaik it should be a tablet and if not, maybe never released to europe? and HTC and android updates is like USA and Soccer :-)
