:) Have some apps on my phone I want to remove

Tried removing via marketplace and they dont show up there - so I cant get them off

Used astro file manager - it shows them but when I tell it to remove them it goes away for a bit t..... then says it cant

Tried OI file manager but there does not seem to be a way there

Can anyone help me? surely there must be an easy way of getting rid of an APP?

:)

If it's preinstalled on your phone you can uninstall it with titanium backup (needs root) for example

Might be a dumb question but have you gone to Settings-->Applications-->Manage Applications?

Tried again with another application and it let me remove that - but for a couple of others it just says clear data (such as URFooz)

those are applications from acer themselfs, no "easy" way of removing

root is needed => check the appropriate threads

I am using root manger, it is easy to use.

Also works great. You may have a try,but remember to root your phone first
