Custom ROM will unlock phone or not ?

Hi,

I own an HTC Magic (SFR Version, french network of Vodafone). I'm thinking to upgrade it with a custom ROM as avalaible here but will it remove the SIM lock on phone ? as I want to change operator but have been unable to find a way to remove simlock on it ;(

No, rooting the phone and putting a custom ROM on it does not unlock the phone. If the phone is locked you will have to buy an unlock code.
