Guest Willz Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 I haven't been receiving every text message being sent to me recently, and I don't know why. I also sent one to my friend and he didn't get that either. I know this happens every now and then, it's usually a rare issue with phones, but it's happened a fair amount lately. Any reason for this?
Guest stealthstealer Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 yeah this is a definite issue that i had with some of the 2.1 ROMs. Im not really sure if theres a fix, however what worked for me was this: 1. Go back to a rom with fully working SMS 2. Install the HU_customization updata.app from the official 2.1 release 3. wipe the phone to factory settings 4. flash desired rom. No idea if this really did the trick but i had this problem with both the 2.1 beta and the RBM rom. This seems to have fixed it, could just be chance...

Guest Simon O Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 Hmm, had this problem myself yesterday.
Guest de_shepherd Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 Wan't problems with text messages one of the issues that Huawei said was causing 2.1 to be delayed? I think this further points to the 2.1 that TMob-Hu released as not being the final version
Guest le_lutin Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 Wan't problems with text messages one of the issues that Huawei said was causing 2.1 to be delayed? I think this further points to the 2.1 that TMob-Hu released as not being the final version They did say something about SMS in broken english that was hard to decipher, but it may well have been referring to this issue.
Guest Willz Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 It's annoying now. I just received 2 texts that were sent to me yesterday. :) Maybe I should just go back to 1.6? Or is there a better 2.1 rom?

Guest Skiwii Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 Can anyone confirm that the HU_customization fixes the problem?
Guest den_breacker Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 Can anyone confirm that the HU_customization fixes the problem? It doesn't...
Guest Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 Yeah, this is happening to me now also, I thought it was just because I had bad reception where I live, but even with decent reception I still don't receive all text messages... This makes me want to go back to 1.5 where this worked fine.
Guest Willz Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 I received a text an hour and a half late today. Not sure if it was because I was in an area with no signal when I should have received it, then when I had signal, it took about an hour to receieve. Not sure if it was slow, or this issue again, but whatever it is, IT'S PISSING ME OFF.
Guest bounty123 Posted June 21, 2010 Report Posted June 21, 2010 (edited) I received a text an hour and a half late today. Not sure if it was because I was in an area with no signal when I should have received it, then when I had signal, it took about an hour to receieve. Not sure if it was slow, or this issue again, but whatever it is, IT'S PISSING ME OFF. Same happened to me with Paul's WIP rom, made from the kitchen. Got the SMS confirmation after a credit card transaction 4 or 5 hours later, while it always used to be prompt, with 0 delay. This is the only big issue to me with the 2.1 rom. If we could solve this, I'd be a happy panda ;) I do have the HU_customization, so it does not affect the problem. Edited June 21, 2010 by bounty123
Guest Willz Posted June 21, 2010 Report Posted June 21, 2010 Well, I'm not on Pauls rom anymore. And so far today, I have receieved all text messages properly and on time. So hopefully it's okay now. ;)
Guest twe Posted June 21, 2010 Report Posted June 21, 2010 I have Paul's 1.8 ROM installed and my messages were not going out but being received. I reset everything back to default, deleted the cache too and it started working again without problems. I am due an upgrade now and am tempted to get rid of this phone. HTC desire or the new Iphone 4, not sure yet.
Guest jrec Posted June 28, 2010 Report Posted June 28, 2010 I'm having the exact same problem, but in this case am on the stock 1.5 ROM with December update, and always have been (waiting for a UK official ROM, in vain...). Since the middle of last week (that I've been aware of at least) I've not received some texts at all, which is a REAL problem. All my outgoing texts are being sent correctly. T-Mo customer services are some distance short of thorough in their ability/desire to troubleshoot/investigate. I've been wondering if it's to do with roaming from 2G to 3G and vice versa, or changing the preferred 2G/UMTS settings in Mobile Network Settings. I'd had it set 2o 2G preferred for a long time to save battery and had only recently needed to be using 3G more. Could be a red-herring though. Rebooting doesn't pick up the missed ones, nor does signing on/off from the network. I've had a sequence of 3 sent to me a in a five-minute period where I've received the first and last but not the middle one. I'm baffled. It's such a basic feature of a phone/network that I'm going to have to dig out my old Win Mo device in desparation. Anyone out there got any ideas? How do you clear the message cache (which someone mentioned above)? jrec
