Guest squrl Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 Hi, running MCR r3.1 here with chompSMS 4.2 as the default messaging app, deleted the stock Mms.apk. Problem is I'm not receiving SMS messages at all! I can send them but i can't receive. Had the same setup with chompSMS 4.0 and it all worked well so I guess it's a chomp bug, can anyone confirm? Will try to push stock Mms.apk back in the meantime. Thanks a lot.
Guest craigcrawford1988 Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 You need mms.apk to receive messages. It must be present even if you're using a 3rd party app.
Guest squrl Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 Thank you Craig, it was exactly like you said. Pushed stock Mms.apk back and all is working well. Anyway, it's a shame that the stock messaging app acts like both "server" and "client", it should be separated IMO. Sorry if I'm not speaking in correct terms, but I think you know what I mean :)
Guest craigcrawford1988 Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 I know what you mean. However, mms.apk acts as both an app and API.
